Flake
Ice Generators
Operating principle:
The GENEGLACE flake free machine is a insulated double wall stationery
cylinder (1) mounted in vertical position.
Water is pumped (2) into the top tray (3) and distributed over the chromium
plated inner surface (4) in a continuous water curtain except the part in which
ice removal takes place.
The low temperature refrigerant between the cylinder wals (5) freezes the water.
Excess water is deflected back (6) into the base (7) and is recirculated.
The rotating central shaft (8) is driven by an electric motor (9) and carries an
arm with an helical reamer (10) which removes the ice from the wall without
touching the cylinder. The ice falls down into the storage container under the
machine.

why they have chosen flake ice
Any ice, as it melts, enables a product to be cooled and protected from dehydration and can even restore its natural moisture level. Flake-ice has all these properties and something more. Its temperature and its specific form offer extra benefits to many food and industrial processes.
Substantial cooling power
Slightly sub cooled, flake ice is also a dry ice. The "ice only" feature of its manufacture means that the latent heat, the
principle source of the cooling energy, is 100% available. The dry flake-ice at -60 C therefore works far more effectively than wet ice.
Rapid cooling
The flakes are thin (from 1.5 to 3mm), in relation to their large surface area and this provides more efficient thermal exchange, to ensure faster product cooling.
At sea, for example, Fist must be chilled as soon as it is caught. Cooled immediately down to 00C and with no subsequent break in the cold chain, its shelf life is considerably extended.
Optimise the cooling of your product
Precise temperature control of a mixture
Using flake ice enables the precise calculation of its cooling input (dry ice) and its effects on the temperature of the mixture are quickly apparent. This feature is critical in the chemical and meat processing industries.
Ease of handling and storage
Flake ice is free-flowing, its flakes do not stick together and form blocks. They are light and cushion the product to reduce risk of crushing or deterioration. Flake-ice is easy to store and handle. As it does not contain water, it can be kept in a negative temperature storage.
Why GENEGLACE ?
At your side, wherever you are
Precision manufacture and total confidence in reliable equipment
Designed according to a simple principle, GENEGLACE machines benefit from over forty years technical experience and a continuous policy of development, for an unbeatable quality.
The confidence that equipment is selected and designed for an accurate response to your need
From the start the GENEGLACE teams assess the specific requirements in order to calculate the capacity needed and to select the most suitable system. The range is the most extensive on the market. The modular Ice Systems enable productions and storage elements to be combined, to
achieve exactly the right capacity.
Prompt delivery
Most products and spares are available from stock.
Local service wherever you are
With an international network in more than 50 countries, our customers benefit from a high quality service. A GENEGLACE trained representative is in constant contact with the factory and has advanced information, videos, etc.). In addition, this specialist
regularly attends product training courses.
The production of flake ice
THE ICE GENERATORS
-
The generator is as the heart of the GENEGLACE technology.
-
The reamer detaches the ice without excessive effort or constraint. it only
requires simple routine maintenance without the need for periodic sharpening.
-
The design is based on a static cylinder with few moving parts and no rotary joints.
-
The cylinder is fully insulated. This means that all the refrigeration goes directly to the water.
-
Ice generators are available for the production of between 200 kg and 40 tonnes per day. They are manufactured in different models, with or without exchanger and function with all the refrigerants
currently on the market: R22, R0404, R717...
THE ICE PACKS
-
The Ice Packs are complete assemblies ready for fitting with minimal on-site installation.
-
They offer increased production due to
optimization of the combined vary between 180 and 30,000 kg of ice per day.
-
Ice packs are designed for optimum reliability in difficult climate conditions and can be adapted to the most demanding site conditions through the use of specific fittings (protected condensers, separate condensers, etc.).
THE ON-BOARD MACHINES
-
The "on-boards" are designed to tolerate the rocking and pitching of the fishing vessels. in addition they are treated to withstand the particularly corrosive marine environment.
-
Five models are available, in fresh or sea water versions, with productions rates of up to 6
tonnes per day.
Storage, handling and treatment
THE ORBITAL SILOS
-
The orbitals silos hygienically store the flake ice in ideal conditions.
-
The fully automatic device ensures delivery on demand, without difficult handlings.
-
The first ice produced is the first extracted (FI-FO system). The flake ice supplied is thus of a
constant quality, with no build up of hard ice at the bottom of the bin.
-
Assembly and adjustment in the factory ensure simple and
rapid installation in site.
-
Contents vary between 2 and 20
tonnes.
THE GENEGLACE COMPACTOR
-
Combined with an ice-maker, the compactor transforms the
flakes into blocks.
-
40 to 50 blocks weighing 25 kg each, are compacted every hour automatically.
-
Requiring very little space, it enables
the operator to supply ice in flakes or blocks.
GENEGLACE SETS
- These are simple and effective combinations of productions and storage modules with easy access to the ice.
